The Perfect Match: Ahura Mazda = Post-Exile Yahweh / Jesus

Ahura Mazda (Zoroastrian Creator) characteristics:

  2. ✅ Opposes blood sacrifice – Zoroaster taught against it
  3. ✅ Universal – creator of all, no favored ethnic group
  4. ✅ Upholds Asha (Truth) – never deceives

  6. ✅ Non-violent – victory through righteousness not bloodshed
  7. ✅ Creator of light – illumination and wisdom

Jesus’s teachings:

Actual Story: The Zoroastrian Magi recognized that these captives were worshipping the adversary and needed rescue.

Actual understanding: Jesus opposed them for hiding that they’d switched sides while keeping violent Old Testament passages in play.

“You have heard it said, ‘Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person.” (Matthew 5:38-39)

Translation: “The old deity commanded proportional vengeance (Angra Mainyu). I’m teaching you Ahura Mazda’s way (non-retaliation).”

“You have heard it said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies.” (Matthew 5:43-44)

Translation: “The old deity said destroy other peoples (Angra Mainyu). Ahura Mazda teaches universal love.”

“You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men” (Mark 7:8)

Translation: “You’re teaching Persian Ahura Mazda concepts (‘tradition of men’ learned during Exile) while pretending the violent old deity (‘commandment of God’ = Torah) is still valid. Pick a side!”

Jesus was calling them out for trying to have it both ways:

Jesus said: No. Complete the defection. Abandon the adversary entirely.

Why The Magi Recognized Jesus

Matthew 2:1-12 – Zoroastrian priests travel to honor infant Jesus

Actual meaning: The Magi recognized: This child will complete the defection we started 500 years ago.
